The Super Eagles conclude their 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers on Sunday with a match against Sao Tome and Principe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
The match will be the second meeting between the two nations after Nigeria secured a dominant 10-0 win against the home side in June 2022.
The three-time African champions will return home to Akwa Ibom State after qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
What is at stake for Nigeria vs Sao Tome and Principe?
Top spot in Group A is at stake in Sunday’s match at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium. The Super Eagles currently lead the league with 12 points from five matches, two points ahead of second-placed Guinea-Bissau.
Both teams have already qualified for next year’s tournament in Ivory Coast, but Nigeria need at least a point ahead of bottom side São Tome and Principe to win the group.

Nigeria face Sao Tome and Principe at 17:00 (WAT) but the Afrosport TV live studio session starts on Sunday September 10 at 16:30 (WAT).
